Monogram Club Musings – Blue-Gold Weekend

Apr 23, 2018, 3:09 PM EDT

Stan Smagala '90, Tim Grunhard '90 and D'Juan Francisco '89 - all members of the 1988 national championship team - were on hand for the football alumni weekend.

Spring weather finally arrived in South Bend just in time for the Blue-Gold Game festivities. The Monogram Club was happy to partner with the Fighting Irish football program for the Notre Dame Football Alumni Appreciation Weekend. The weekend featured events that brought together many different eras of Notre Dame football, including the current team.

Along with the football alumni, there were many other Monogram winners on campus. Among them were several volleyball alumni who returned to watch their program face Illinois State in a spring exhibition match on Friday. Many of them also attended Saturday’s Monogram Club brunch. Thank you to everyone who connected with the Monogram Club throughout the weekend!

There’s still time to take part in Notre Dame Day…

A weekend of fun and celebration turned somber on Sunday with the passing of Kona Schwenke (’14, football). We send our thoughts and prayers to his family and friends.
