Monogram Club Musings – Navy Weekend

Former Fighting Irish captain and current Colts safety Matthias Farley ('15) was the guest speaker at Saturday's pre-game reception.

Notre Dame football honored the past and celebrated its seniors en route to its ninth win of the season, a 24-17 victory over Navy. The Fighting Irish donned special uniforms for the Rockne Heritage Game, which was played in less-than-ideal conditions in The House That Rockne Built. Rain, wind, cold and even marshmallows couldn’t stop the Irish from defeating their long-time rival.

Whether on campus or around the country it was an eventful and successful weekend for Fighting Irish athletics.

Fighting Irish volleyball also enjoyed a very successful weekend at home by collecting ACC wins over North Carolina and NC State…

 

 
Women’s soccer upset No. 2 Texas A&M on Friday in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Unfortunately, Notre Dame’s run ended on Sunday with an overtime setback to Baylor.

 

The hockey team produced a two-game sweep at RPI to move its winning streak to seven games…

 

 

Speaking of hockey…

 

The swimming and diving team finished its first-semester schedule in fine fashion…

 

The women’s basketball team notched a win at Oregon State on Sunday to move to 2-0 on its current seven-game road trek…

 

The men’s basketball team headed even further west to take part in this week’s Maui Invitational…
