Monogram Club Musings – Miami (Ohio) Weekend

From picturesque fall weather to a beautiful display of football, this past weekend left many feeling happy as they headed home from campus and into October.

While Notre Dame and Miami (Ohio) don’t share much of a history on the gridiron, there is one legendary connection between the two schools. The late Ara Parseghian attended and coached at Miami before eventually making his way to South Bend where he left an indelible mark on the Notre Dame community and beyond. The Monogram Club kicked off its slate of events Friday afternoon with a special opportunity to win tickets to the Notre Dame at Miami (Fla.) game on Nov. 11. The winner of the raffle was Dick Monjeau (’61, track & field).

The Monogram Club’s Schivarelli Football Players’ Lounge reception continues to be a desired destination on football Fridays.

The MCN was at work this weekend…

 

Even though they won’t play their first game for several months, it was a big weekend for the Notre Dame baseball program…

 

It’s always tremendous to see Monogram winners return to campus and impart their wisdom on the current generation of Fighting Irish student-athletes…

Prior to leading the crowd in cheers, the Notre Dame cheerleaders and Leprechaun mingled with Monogram Club members and guests at the Club’s pre-game reception.

The Monogram Club partners with the Notre Dame football program for the annual Football Fantasy Camp. Several fantasy campers returned this weekend and were recognized during the game.

 

It was a quick start for the Irish and they never looked back…

 

Fighting Irish cross country, women’s soccer, men’s soccer, volleyball, softball and hockey also were competing on campus this weekend…
