2015 Moose Krause Award Presentation: A Twitter Recap

Feb 24, 2015, 11:00 AM EDT

Monogram Club Executive Director Brant Ust ('00, baseball) and President Haley Scott DeMaria ('95, swimming) presented the 2015 Moose Krause Distinguished Service Award to Ruth Riley ('01, basketball) during the Notre Dame vs. Louisville game on February 23, 2015 (photo by Mike Bennett/Lighthouse Imaging).

Monday was a special evening, as the Monogram Club presented its highest honor—the Moose Krause Distinguished Service Award—to women’s basketball alumna Ruth Riley (’01) during Notre Dame’s 68-52 victory over Louisville at Purcell Pavilion.

Though many people know Riley for her accomplishments on the court, which include helping lead Notre Dame to the 2001 national championship, winning two WNBA titles and an Olympic gold medal, her achievements outside of basketball are perhaps even more impressive.

From fighting malaria in Africa to childhood hunger in the United States, Riley has dedicated her life to helping others and continues to live out the ideals of Notre Dame and the Monogram Club.

You can read a full recap of the evening on our website, and have a look below for some of the highlights and reaction on social media.
