As we prepare to turn the calendar to 2015, it is once again time to look back on another great year for Notre Dame and the Monogram Club. Over the next several days, we’ll continue to recap the significant Monogram initiatives, events and accomplishments from 2014. June took the Club to our nation’s capital…
Following his nomination for appointment to the rank of brigadier general last year, Bryan Fenton (‘87, manager) was officially promoted in a ceremony on June 13 at Arlington National Cemetery.
Fenton, a former senior personnel manager under Lou Holtz, has served on the Monogram Club Board of Directors since 2011. He was commissioned upon graduating from Notre Dame, and has served in numerous locations both in the United States and abroad. Fenton currently serves as a deputy commanding general of the 25th Infantry Division in Schofield Barracks, Hawaii.
A number of Monogram winners attended the ceremony, including Kerrie Debbs (‘89, golf), Tom Galloway (‘87, football), T.J. Mathieson (‘04, hockey), Chinedum Ndukwe (‘07, football), Haley Scott DeMaria (‘95, swimming), Mike Sullivan (‘09, manager), Rob Williamson (‘93, lacrosse) and Brian Moffitt (‘88, manager).
Fenton continues to make a profound impact on Notre Dame and our current student-athletes and has organized numerous visits to the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, including last November with fellow Monogram members and another in May for the Irish baseball team.
