During fall break, Notre Dame men’s and women’s diving competed in Atlanta against Georgia Tech and South Carolina. On one of the days when the team was not competing in the pool, it decided to spend some time surrounded by water anyway.
Thanks in part to the Monogram Club’s team hosting program, the group visited the impressive Georgia Aquarium, home to more than 100,000 animals, 500 species, and 10 million gallons of water.
The team hosting program provides financial assistance to support cultural and educational opportunities for Fighting Irish teams while on the road for competition. The program recently helped fund men’s soccer’s safari and lion walk in Zimbabwe, softball’s day at Universal Studios, and volleyball’s visit to Monticello.
Also of note, junior Lindsey Streepey was named the ACC Female Diver of the Week on Tuesday. The Dallas native defeated Purdue’s Mary Beth Dunnichay, a 2008 Olympian, by eight points on the 3-meter board, and placed third in the 1-meter event.
