Saturday was a picture perfect fall day on campus, as the sixth-ranked Fighting Irish hosted North Carolina at Notre Dame Stadium. After last week’s thrilling win against Stanford, Notre Dame had its hands full, as the Tar Heels jumped out to a 14-0 lead early, and held a 36-35 lead into the fourth quarter.
The Irish took control for good when Everett Golson connected with Tarean Folston on a nine-yard touchdown with 10:39 remaining, and outlasted the Tar Heels, 50-43, in the highest scoring game in stadium history.
Before moving ahead to the upcoming showdown in Tallahassee, here’s a look back at Notre Dame’s win over UNC, through the eyes of Monogram winners on campus and around the world.
