If you’re wondering what campus felt like at Sunday’s commencement ceremony, or longing for your own time spent under the Golden Dome, look no further than Fighting Irish Digital Media’s student-athlete commencement feature, posted on YouTube and WatchND.tv earlier this afternoon.
FIDM was on the scene throughout the weekend, including at the Monogram Club’s “Fourth Quarter Farewell” on Saturday morning. Over the past three years, the breakfast reception held in the Notre Dame Stadium press box has become a nice opportunity and a special graduation weekend tradition for student-athletes and their families.
During this time, FIDM caught up with several of the best and brightest from the Fighting Irish class of 2014. While dozens of student-athletes are featured in clips throughout the video, six graduates sat down to speak about their time at Notre Dame, and what graduating from the University means to them. These include: women’s soccer’s Elizabeth Tucker (Jacksonville, Fla.), hockey’s Steven Summerhays (Anchorage, Alaska), track & field’s Logan Renwick (Butler, Pa.) and Jessie Christian (Washington, D.C.), men’s swimming’s Frank Dyer (Loudonville, N.Y.) and fencing’s Alex Coccia (Columbus, Ohio).
Monogram Club Executive Director Brant Ust (’00, baseball) is also featured, discussing the special student-athlete graduation stoles that were established in 2014, thanks in part to the efforts of Renwick and Christian, leaders in Notre Dame’s Student-Athlete Advisory Council.
You can watch the video below. Don’t be surprised if you’re feeling both remarkably sentimental and incredibly proud by the end of it.
