Believe it or not, 2014 is approaching faster than the snow is falling in South Bend. The turning of the calendar is just a few days away, and in celebration of a terrific 2013, we are looking back at a year’s worth of Monogram Club events, accomplishments and great Notre Dame camaraderie. After September’s story on the SAAC lunch, “12 Months of Monogram” heads south for the Shamrock Series in October…
For the fifth consecutive year, the University of Notre Dame took the spirit and energy of a home football weekend on the road, and once again, the Fighting Irish came through with a win, making it 5-for-5 in Shamrock Series games with a 37-34 victory over Arizona State.
Like San Antonio, New York, Washington, and Chicago before it, the Dallas/Ft. Worth area was an excellent location for the event.
On Friday afternoon, over 160 Monogram winners and their guests joined the Club staff and president Haley Scott DeMaria (’95, swimming), first vice president Kevin O’Connor (’89, lacrosse) and second vice president Terri Vitale (’94, ’95, tennis) for a reception at The Flying Saucer.
The restaurant’s patio was a perfect spot on the breezy day, as guests enjoyed a great selection of Tex-Mex appetizers, including assorted quesadillas, Southwest Salad, Cowtown Baked Beans, Flautas De Carnitas before many headed off to the pep rally.
