Believe it or not, 2014 is approaching faster than the snow is falling in South Bend. The turning of the calendar is just a few days away, and in celebration of a terrific 2013, we are looking back at a year’s worth of Monogram Club events, accomplishments and great Notre Dame camaraderie. We’ll kick off “12 Months of Monogram” in Miami…

2013 began with a bang, as Notre Dame invaded Florida for the BCS national championship. There were a number of special events leading up to the game, including a pair of Saturday festivities with close ties to the Monogram Club.

Rick Mirer (’92, football) coordinated an Irish Player Charities “Rally for ND Scholarships” event, where more than a dozen Monogram winners served as hosts and $25,000 in proceeds was raised to provide partial Notre Dame scholarships.

Later that evening, over 20,000 people attended the Notre Dame BCS Pep Rally on South Beach. Speakers included Lou Holtz, Pat Terrell (’90), Tony Rice (’89) and Mike Golic (’85), as well as actor and Notre Dame dad Martin Short.

Monday’s game did not go as any Irish fan had hoped, but nevertheless it was an unforgettable weekend for Notre Dame and the Monogram Club. For more on the BCS trip, check out the story here and watch the pep rally video below.
