Last night, a sold-out crowd of 600 women attended the Kelly Cares Foundation’s Football 101, a fundraising event benefiting breast cancer research. I have had the privilege of attending this event – twice. And I look forward to attending it again.
Football 101 teaches women the basics of the game: running through drills with current team members, attending classroom sessions with the coaching staff, and capping off the evening with the all-important fashion show (women attendees, football player models; enough said). It’s a heck of a lot of fun! And I don’t just mean the cocktail hour, hitting the “Play Like A Champion” sign, and the behind-the-scenes look at the football facilities; I really enjoyed taking out the tackling dummy! (Video proof below…)
Football 101 is a repeat event. It is a little different every year, and just as much fun. The women who attend span the decades and vary greatly in athletic ability (zero experience required). It is (over-21) fun for all and a rockin’ girls night out. (Although rumor has it the players look forward to Football 101 each year as well!)
The Monogram Club supports this important initiative, and the Kelly Cares Foundation, with an annual donation. Just last week, our Executive Director, Beth Hunter, and I delivered a $5,000 check to Coach Kelly on behalf of the Monogram Club.
Check out the fun (and see if you can spot a few familiar faces):
